This full service 296 room hotel, built in 1970 had deteriorated to a sad state before undergoing a three million dollar renovation in 1996. Kirk And Associates designed a completely new lobby with lighted rotunda, maple feature wall with black reveals, tile floors with marble insets and a new granite reception desk backed with a maple feature wall. A carpeted seating area has book cases housing an extensive lending library. The walls are dark taupe while all mouldings and trim is ivory/beige. Upholstered furniture is architectural prints and art deco prints in taupes, golds and black make this area visually stunning, inviting and relaxing. The Lobby Bar has a curved granite topped bar with mirrored back bar display, 25’ long white painted bookcases, large screen television and cocktail seating. Across an arcade is the 80 seat three meal restaurant with maple wood tables with black trim and alabaster art deco wall sconces. The focal point of the restaurant is an faux antique bronze metal hood above granite serving counter with built in chafing dishes and cooking station for morning omelets and luncheon buffets.
