It's dramatic art deco facade is to be restored, with it's creamy beige brick and limestone trim and cornices, black granite water course and black granite entry portals. Guests arrive under new glass and steel entry porte cohere, paved brick approaches and centered with a 3 tiered fountain bordered by copse's of trees and seasonal plantings. Baggage is whisked away by uniformed bellmen as guests enter via entry ramps past sundry shops and administrative offices to the spectacular Grand Reception Lobby with monolithic black granite reception desk, original art deco wall relief's, and massive black granite columns soaring 20 feet to a coffered ceiling, replete with original chandeliers. Centered in the room is the magnificent marble staircase with marble urns, columns and exquisite iron balustrade all reminiscent of the fabulous grande descents on the ocean liners of the 1930's leads to the 6,000 S.F. 2nd floor Ballroom with meeting rooms and existing banquet kitchen. Enter the marbled and granite barrel vaulted elevator lobby to one of the 18 floors of 247 luxury guest rooms.
